Job summary

WSP is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Ontario to perform soil, aggregate, and concrete testing within the Construction Services, Materials Engineering and Laboratory Group. You will generate precise test records and contribute to reliable final reports while collaborating with engineers and technicians to expand WSP's materials services across the province.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or post-secondary tech education in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in soils or construction materials lab is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to obtain Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories Type C certification and learn lab certification, calibration, and proficiency-testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, concrete, and other construction materials per industry standards.
• Produce accurate test records and enter results to support final reports.
• Support CCIL certification activities and timely reporting of results.
• Maintain calibrated equipment and safe laboratory practices.
• Support the laboratory quality control program with proficiency testing and audits.
• Collaborate with Lab Lead to identify non-conformances and communicate them.
