Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Pickering, Ontario, is seeking a Materials Coordinator to ensure timely delivery, receipt, and processing of project materials for the Turbine Generator Refurbishment at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.

The role requires coordination with engineering and procurement to meet quality and schedule. You bring 1-3 years in nuclear construction procurement or project coordination, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with codes/standards.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in Nuclear Construction procurement or project coordination.
  • Completion of a Materials and Operations Management Program is an asset.
  • Enrollment in or completion of the SCMP Accreditation Program is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with Bruce Power and/or OPG catalogue ID requirements is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes and Standards (ASME, CSA) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely delivery, receipt, and processing of project materials, including permanent and temporary plant materials, tools, consumables, and engineered items.
  • Ensure that all quality-related materials are handled per the quality program and properly stored.
  • Maintain effective communication between project team, engineering, and procurement to meet quality and schedule.
  • Sign materials into the Comprehensive Work Package prior to release to the field.
  • Develop reports and provide updates on material tracking, deliveries, and costs.
  • Ensure quality, reliability, and responsiveness to operational needs.
  • Monitor material deliveries to support procurement and materials management.
  • Coordinate delivery of client-supplied equipment material and expedite as required.
  • Manage receiving responsibilities and SAP goods receipt.
  • Assist Procurement with supplier recommendations and status updates.
  • Maintain official material receiving and vendor documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do Here
  • The primary function of this position will be to ensure the timely delivery, receipt, and processing of project materials, including permanent and temporary plant materials, tools, consumables, and engineered items.
  • Ensure that all quality-related materials are handled in accordance with the quality program, and ensure compliance with the storage of pressure boundary materials.
  • Maintain effective communication between the project team, engineering, and procurement to ensure materials are delivered in accordance with the required quality requirements while adhering to the project schedule.
  • Ensure all materials are signed into the Comprehensive Work Package in accordance with the Construction Installation Testing Plan prior to release of the material to the field.
  • Work closely with the Procurement team to develop reports and provide updates to the project team as required regarding material tracking, deliveries, delivery costs, and expedite costs.
  • Ensure quality, reliability, and responsiveness to operational needs which meet or exceed organizational expectations.
  • Monitor material deliveries to assist the procurement and materials management teams in identifying critical deliveries to site.
  • Coordinate delivery of client-supplied equipment material.
  • Expedite materials as required.
  • Manage receiving responsibilities, including receiving, inspection, inventory management, and performing SAP goods receipt.
  • Assist the Procurement Department with supplier recommendations for materials or services.
  • Assist the Materials Manager with material status updates.
  • Maintain official material receiving and vendor documentation in the electronic records management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Team
  • 1-3 years of experience in the Nuclear Construction Industry in a procurement or project coordination role.
  • Completion of a Materials and Operations Management Program at the college or university level is an asset.
  • Enrollment in or completion of the SCMP Accreditation Program is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is critical.
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Familiarity with Bruce Power and/or OPG catalogue ID requirements is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes and Standards as they relate to procurement activities, including but not limited to ASME Section III, ASME NCA-4000, ASME NQA-1, CSA N285.0, CSA N286-05, and CSA Z299 Series requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of other material or component codes and standards is an asset, including but not limited to ASME Section II, ASTM, and CSA.
  • Excellent planning, decision-making, negotiation, and time management skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

Reason for vacancy: New role

The expected pay range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
