Job summary

Dessert Holdings in London, Ontario is seeking a Materials Coordinator to coordinate and expedite material flow to meet production schedules. You will manage pallet positioning, conduct counts, and reconcile inventory while ensuring accurate ERP records.

The role requires post-secondary education and 1–3 years in warehousing or manufacturing, with strong organizational and communication skills to support multiple departments and customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage material pallet positioning in all areas of the warehouse (dry, cooler, freezer)
• Conduct daily counts of materials required 4 days out
• Assist Inventory Control with daily material reconciliation
• Manage and direct flow of materials into the plant as well as divert excess to offsite storage
• Post all transfer order POs off site to keep total inventory correct
• Determine volume to transfer and execute the transfer order from offsite storage to the plant following FIFO for plant requirements
• Direct the thaw/temper process for materials offsite, and instruct 3PL operators
• Maintain accurate inventory in ERP for co-pack locations and coordinate transfers of WIP, CHEP pallets to copacker
• Establish and maintain cooperative and positive relationships with all departments and customers

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary education
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment
• Practical knowledge of supply chain and warehouse management
• Demonstrated ability to use technology and/or computer systems for problem solving
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to deal with complex problems and multiple levels of communication within the organization
• Able to work various shifts and extend working hours when required
• Excellent communication skills in a team environment both written and verbal
