Work Location & Schedule

This full-time position is located at 5203 24 St, Vernon, BC V1T 8X7, with a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule, ensuring 40 hours per week with no weekend shifts.

The Material Handler in a branch is responsible for shipping, receiving, and moving products safely and efficiently while maintaining an organized and tidy warehouse and stock environment. They support customers and sales staff regarding product, order quantity, availability, and stock location. This role is essential for smooth branch operations, impacting inventory management, product distribution, and customer satisfaction.

What To Expect In The Role

• Order Assembly: Generate pick tickets, gather materials, and place them in designated areas. Operate equipment and warehouse software (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, RF Scanner).
• Packing & Shipping: Pack, weigh, and label shipments. Prepare shipping documents, coordinate pickups, and assist with order invoicing.
• Receiving: Unload, inspect, verify stock against manifests, update inventory, and handle damages or returns.
• Stock Keeping: Conduct cycle counts, consolidate materials, ensure FIFO rotation, and manage bin relocations.
• Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean and organized, assemble/disassemble storage units, and report hazards.
• Customer/Sales Support: Assist with priority orders, provide stock updates, and help customers loading products.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Previous warehouse experience in a similar role is required
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an asset
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Computer literacy and ability to learn new software required
• Basic math skills for calculating simple equations required
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand/move for 6+ hours daily required
