Job summary

IPEX is seeking a Material Handler at our extrusion plant in Mississauga, Ontario. The role focuses on measuring, inspecting and packaging finished product for distribution, reporting to the Production Manager, and serving as a training position for Trainee roles.

On‑the‑job training is provided, so prior experience is not vital. The position offers a 12-hour continental shift schedule (days 8am–8pm, nights 8pm–8am) with $24.38/hour plus night shift premium where applicable, and a full benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Experience with plastic extrusion is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices is necessary.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile material handling equipment for packaging finished product into crates or bundles.
• Identify processing problems on all equipment and report to Shift Supervisor.
• Measure and record dimensional and physical properties of product at set intervals.
• Maintain orderly and clean material and pipe storage areas.
• Assist movement and setup of equipment in production areas.
• Assist in startup of production line and manufacturing to specifications.
• Build and pack pipe crates.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
