Job description

Material Handler / General Labour (Manufacturing)

As a Material Handler at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to support our overall plant operations. You will gain exposure to our finished goods, learn about our customers and end products, and perform general labor tasks such as moving and packing materials. This role offers potential for unlimited growth opportunities.

Responsibilities :

• Follow production instructions to prepare materials according to customer specifications.
• Package materials using turnstile, downlayer, and banding line equipment.
• Pull and transfer materials from storage to appropriate areas or equipment.
• Ensure safe storage and handling of all materials.
• Perform daily inspections and documentation for crane and / or forklift operations.
• Handle materials carefully to prevent damage.
• Remove and replace equipment parts requiring crane or forklift movement.
• Maintain organized and clean storage areas.
• Train new employees as needed.

Minimum requirements for success :

• Ability to use tape measure, micrometers, and calipers.
• Adherence to safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
