Why This Role Matters

The Material Handler / Customer Service - Counter Sales acts as the primary contact for incoming branch customers. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service by interpreting needs, troubleshooting, ensuring order accuracy, and recommending products and solutions. Additional duties include order assembly, packing, shipping, receiving, stock keeping, warehouse maintenance, and supporting sales and customer inquiries, including operating equipment and managing inventory.

What To Expect In The Role

• Attention to detail: Reviewing stock, assembling orders, and shipping/receiving in the warehouse.
• Customer service orientation: Building and maintaining customer relations through product quotations and sales.
• Multi-tasking: Managing multiple client requests and meeting deadlines.
• Communication: Effective verbal and written communication with customers and colleagues.
• Organization: Handling a high volume of requests while adjusting to interruptions.
• Technology skills: Using phones, computers, and internal systems.
• Warehouse responsibilities: Including order assembly, packing, shipping, receiving, inventory management, and equipment operation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of customer service experience (asset)
• 2+ years in the electrical/lighting industry (asset)
• Experience in warehouse operations, including shipping/receiving (asset)
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software
• Basic mathematical skills
• Knowledge of E.B. Horsman & Son's products and services (asset)
• Project coordination experience (asset)
