Job summary

Ourenergy is seeking an experienced Material Handler in South East Calgary to support the welding shop, operate forklifts, receive manufactured goods, and inspect components against drawings.

The contract is six months with a 40-hour week and the role is safety sensitive. Key requirements include a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence and current forklift and telehandler certificates. You will help manage material flow, organize and store items, and assist with hydrostatic testing preparation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive materials and goods related to projects in the Welding Shop.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders, drawings, and test reports.
• Organize, mark, and store materials prior to use.
• Coordinate material movement with forklifts/telehandlers to supply welders.
• Bolt-up piping for hydrostatic testing and perform tests per standards.
• Report safety, environment, or quality issues to Supervisor.

• Term: 6 months (potential to be extended)
• Expected Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Receive materials and goods related to projects being fabricated within the Welding Shop.
• Verify material deliveries against purchase orders, fabrication drawings, and material test reports, including quantities and technical compliance.
• Organize, mark, and store materials appropriately prior to use.
• Coordinate and move project materials using equipment such as forklifts and telehandlers, ensuring the correct materials are available to welders as required.
• Perform bolt-up of large and small piping for hydrostatic testing and complete hydrostatic testing in accordance with company standards.
• Perform housekeeping duties as required and report any unsatisfactory conditions related to safety, environment, working conditions, or quality to the Supervisor.

Mandatory Qualifications and Certifications

• Grade 12 diploma, General Education Development (GED), or Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC).
• Current certification and demonstrated competency in operating a forklift and telehandler.
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s Licence.
