Job Description

We currently have an opportunity within our Manufacturing & Operations team as a Master Scheduler in Ottawa. This role is ideal if you enjoy working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment and acting as the main liaison between Program Management, Engineering, Contracts, and other functional areas in Manufacturing. You will produce and maintain a Master Production Schedule aligned with the Production Plan, develop forecasts, and monitor manufacturing resources and capacity throughout the cycle.

In this role, you will:

• Assist with responding to Quotation Requests (QRs) by preparing functional CCPs (Company Program Plans) and extracting relevant information from departments. Apply 'What if' scenario simulations to ensure delivery feasibility if the bid is successful. Use QR Templates to ensure all considerations are addressed.
• Coordinate manufacturing delivery commitments with Program Management and Contracts.
• Analyze customer demand, verify manufacturing deliverables, and input orders into the system.
• Monitor and control changes to Order and Lead Time Policies.
• Develop and adhere to GD Canada's Master Production Scheduling Policies and Standard Procedures.
• Alert management of potential plan delinquencies and apply capacity planning to identify long-term resource issues.
• Attend Configuration Control Boards to ensure ECOs are correctly classified and impact on the Master Production Schedule is analyzed.
• Work with management and planning staff to prepare schedules for project startup and monitor progress of supporting elements.
• Monitor schedules for potential delays, communicate issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain minutes and action items, and prepare project status summaries.
• Coordinate with FG shippers to ensure timely shipping.
• Maintain and present performance metrics within the manufacturing organization.
• Act as backup for other Master Production Schedulers when needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma in Material Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPIM, CIRM, and materials management courses are assets.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

• Experience with manufacturing, production scheduling, BOM, and component management.
• Familiarity with production and materials processes, including capabilities, limitations, lead times, and policies.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Project, and ERP systems.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across management levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills focused on practical solutions.

Security

• Must obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada as a citizen or permanent resident.
