Job description

The Position
Uplight is creating a new category of energy. We make software that manages energy resources in homes and businesses—including things like smart thermostats, electric vehicles, solar panels, storage batteries, heat pumps, and even people’s behavior—to generate, shift, or save energy to balance the grid, making it more efficient and reliable. This creates clean energy capacity that can be used by the power grid instead of burning more fossil fuels. Our solutions accelerate the transition to clean energy and save money for energy customers.
The Marketplace Systems team plays a critical role in supporting and scaling our eCommerce operations. We identify workflow gaps and implement efficiencies that enable sustainable, scalable business solutions. Our team is focused on building resilient processes that support Marketplace growth, while maximizing the value of our tooling platforms across the organization. We serve as the connective tissue between operational teams and partners in engineering, accounting, and data—ensuring decisions are grounded in actionable insights. As champions of operational excellence, we work to eliminate bottlenecks, understand the end-to-end value stream, and lead high-impact projects that drive measurable value for the business, especially by thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What you get to do:
As a Marketplace Systems Analyst, you will optimize and maintain the end-to-end procure-to-pay process for our marketplace product line at Uplight. You will analyze and improve procurement workflows, manage vendor data, and ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and invoices. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Accounting, Operations, Customer Support and Engineering teams to drive workflow efficiency, solve system issues, and support system enhancements and integrations. You will identify opportunities for automation and cost savings, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and procurement policies. Your attention to detail and problem-solving mindset will be critical in supporting a seamless and scalable marketplace workflow.
Below is a list of some of the type of work you would be exposed to in this role:
Configure and maintain records, workflows, reports, and scripts in NetSuite to support order and procurement workflows.
Design, implement, and manage complex workflows using an integration platform to improve automation and augment data transformations between systems, leveraging expertise in various development environments.
Build and maintain advanced dashboards and reports in Uplight’s Business Intelligence Tool and NetSuite to support data-driven decision making with stakeholders across the organization, utilizing SQL expertise for robust data querying and analysis.
Perform quality assessments and resolve discrepancies that occur across our systems which impact the order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.
Partner with Product and Engineering teams to support product enhancements and ensure operational readiness, emphasizing project management skills to deliver successful outcomes.
Automate recurring processes and reporting to drive operational efficiency with Supply Chain, Ecommerce, Accounting, Customer Support, and Reporting teams.
Lead critical projects from conception to completion, demonstrating strong project management skills to drive measurable business value.
What you will contribute:
A strong analytical mindset and the ability to break down complex systems into actionable improvements, coupled with a deep understanding of operational knowledge.
A strong background in SQL, integration tools, and business intelligence tools (such as Redash, Looker, or similar), with essential NetSuite expertise.
A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving, with a keen eye for identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for automation, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple workflows and priorities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with excellent collaboration skills for working with technical teams cross-functionally.
A critical thinker who understands upstream and downstream impacts of changes across order and procurement processes.
Skilled at assessing and balancing multiple priorities, ensuring focus on the most impactful outcomes.
A passion for continuous improvement and delivering scalable, sustainable solutions.
An understanding of (or curiosity about) sustainability, clean energy, and mission-driven work is a big plus.
What you bring to Uplight:
3-4 years in ecommerce operations, data analysis, business analysis, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in Python with experience writing scripts to automate workflows and support system integrations, along with strong coding and debugging skills and experience managing code using Git and GitHub.
Hands-on NetSuite expertise, supporting procurement, order management, and financial workflows are essential for this role.
Skilled in building and interpreting reports using Business Intelligence tools, paired with advanced SQL skills.
Expertise in integration management and experience with workflow automation platforms, leveraging various development environments.
Analytical mindset with the ability to perform gap analyses and solve cross-functional operational problems.
Demonstrated ability in cross-functional collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Highly organized, with attention to detail in system configurations, data, and documentation.
Strong systems thinking to understand workflows across the procure-to-pay and order-to-cash lifecycle.
Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Bonus Points:
Celigo and Salesforce Commerce Cloud experience.
Experience working in a SaaS organization.
Experience with cloud platforms for system integrations and data processing.
Knowledge of system architecture and APIs, with the ability to integrate third-party tools and services.
Exposure to fraud management review using tools such as Cybersource.
Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies for iterative development and project delivery.
    Experience working in Ecommerce.
