About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Marketing Specialist, Communications & Digital to support the day-to-day execution of MetOcean's marketing and communications activities.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on written content, digital marketing, website management, campaigns, and events. The successful candidate will help develop and publish content across our digital channels, support marketing campaigns, maintain website content, and coordinate the marketing side of tradeshows and events. Working closely with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Content Creator, you will help turn marketing plans and ideas into clear, consistent, and effective communications across multiple channels.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer who is comfortable working across digital platforms, enjoys variety, and can move between creating content, updating a website, supporting a campaign, and helping deliver an event.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Marketing Communications & Content

• Develop, write, edit, and proofread marketing content for websites, social media, email campaigns, newsletters, customer communications, announcements, and other channels.
• Adapt messaging for different audiences, platforms, and stages of the customer journey while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
• Develop and support product, corporate, campaign, case study, customer story, article, and other long-form content.
• Work with Product Management and technical teams to translate complex information into clear, engaging customer-facing content.
• Support press releases, industry announcements, and other corporate communications.
• Repurpose and adapt existing content for use across web, email, social media, presentations, campaigns, and other channels.

Digital Marketing & Campaigns

• Maintain and update the MetOcean website, including web pages, landing pages, news, product content, and other digital materials using WordPress.
• Support SEO, website optimization, email marketing, digital advertising, and other online marketing activities.
• Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns, coordinating content, schedules, approvals, creative assets, and deliverables.
• Work with the Marketing Content Creator to coordinate graphics, photography, video, and other creative assets.
• Maintain marketing databases and campaign information within Salesforce and other marketing platforms.
• Monitor and report on website, email, social media, and campaign performance, providing insights and supporting recommendations.

Tradeshows & Events

• Support the planning and coordination of tradeshows, conferences, customer events, and other marketing events.
• Coordinate event communications, promotional materials, schedules, and marketing deliverables.
• Support event logistics, including vendors, shipping, booth materials, inventory, and related documentation.
• Prepare pre-event and post-event communications and support onsite social media, photography, and content capture.
• Maintain event calendars and related marketing documentation.

Creative & Marketing Operations

• Collaborate with the Marketing Content Creator and other team members to coordinate written and visual content.
• Support basic video editing and other content adaptations as required.
• Organize and maintain digital marketing assets, content, and related resources.
• Ensure marketing materials and communications are accurate, clear, consistent, and aligned with MetOcean’s brand.

Technical Skills

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems.
• Understanding of SEO, digital marketing, and marketing analytics.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Google Analytics, email marketing platforms, or similar tools is an asset.
• Basic video editing or Adobe Creative Cloud experience is an asset.

Non-Technical Skills & Competencies

Education and Experience

• Experience supporting marketing campaigns, events, and related communications activities.
• Experience working with technical information and translating it into clear, accessible content.
• Experience in a B2B, technology, manufacturing, marine, defence, satellite communications, or industrial environment is an asset.
