Job summary

Mi'kmaw Cultural Foundation Inc. in Stephenville, NL, is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to promote programs, events, artists, and community initiatives through digital media, storytelling, outreach, and communications support.

You will create social media content, develop campaigns, design posters and graphics, draft press releases and website content, and assist with event planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Interest in marketing, communications, media, or public relations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Graphic design using Canva or Adobe tools is an asset.
• Knowledge of Mi’kmaw culture is considered an asset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support the promotion and visibility of Mi'kmaw Cultural Foundation Inc.’s programs, events, artists, and community initiatives through digital media, storytelling, outreach, and communications support.

Key Responsibilities

Communications & Marketing

• Create and schedule social media content.
• Develop marketing campaigns for programs and events.
• Design posters, digital graphics, and promotional materials.
• Draft press releases and website content.
• Support photography and videography at events.

Community Engagement

• Promote Foundation activities within communities.
• Support outreach to schools, youth groups, and artists.
• Assist with public engagement activities and event communications.

Administrative Support

• Maintain organized media files and records.
• Support reporting and funding documentation.
• Assist with event planning and logistics.

Qualifications

• Interest in marketing, communications, media, or public relations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Contract Conditions

This position is offered as a 7 month employment contract. Continued employment beyond the contract end date is not guaranteed. Any extension or renewal will depend on available funding, program requirements, satisfactory performance, and the operational needs of Mi’kmaw Cultural Foundation.
