Volunteer Marketing Associate for Vancouver Biosphere Eco-City Initiative

You can help support Vancouver’s movement towards sustainability.

• The Vancouver Biosphere Eco-City (VBEC) Committee is seeking an experienced marketing professional to lead marketing strategies and monitor performance for three project teams. These teams support: a Vancouver Database of sustainability projects, a Vancouver Urban Tree Tour, and outreach to educational institutions and the public.
• A Biosphere Eco-City (BEC) refers to an urban core and its surrounding rural area. The BEC approach aims to engage people and organizations to foster a culture of sustainability, supporting the movement to create a sustainable city.

Responsibilities (in cooperation with VBEC Committee and its teams)

• Support events with digital campaigns and pre/post event social media engagement.
• Prepare digital and print-ready marketing materials, including flyers and graphics.
• Develop content calendars for social media platforms to increase audience engagement and growth.
• Create visuals and stories aligned with VBEC’s brand voice and mission.
• Monitor performance analytics and recommend improvements.
• Stay informed about social media trends and best practices in cause-driven marketing.

Key Skills and Tools

• Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media scheduling tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational and multitasking abilities in a deadline-driven environment.
• A blend of creativity, attention to detail, and consistency with the brand voice.
