Business Title: Senior Manager, Market Access

Primary responsibility for Manitoba and the West and other regions as needed

Position Overview

Biocon Biologics is seeking a dynamic and experienced Market Access professional to lead payer engagement and account management for public and private reimbursement contracts with primary focus in Western Canada and other regions as needed. This role will focus on improving access and procurement of Biocon Biologics' biosimilar products. The Market Access Senior Manager will leverage expertise in healthcare policy and reimbursement strategies to identify and bridge access gaps, creating sustainable pathways for product accessibility and acceptance. Success in this role will be reflected in achieving stakeholder endorsement of Biocon Biologic’s value proposition and implementation of market access strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in Western Canada public and private healthcare systems.
  • Identify policy priorities and advocate for access-enhancing initiatives, sharing insights with Biocon Biologic’s leadership team to address local and regional market access opportunities.
  • Customize and implement payer value messaging to align with Western Canada’s healthcare needs and reimbursement frameworks.
  • Craft and present strategic payer communication materials based on Biocon Biologic’s Global Value Dossier to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the biologics and biosimilars pricing and reimbursement landscape, with a particular focus on Western Canada.
  • Design and implement strategic initiatives to secure and sustain access at optimal pricing, including value-based contracting.
  • Respond to regional requests for proposals (RFPs) for biosimilar reimbursement, leading the negotiation process to align with Biocon Biologic’s value objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Medical, Operations, and Reimbursement, to integrate market access goals within broader business initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous self-improvement, setting high standards for performance, and support peers and customers by providing strategic feedback and fostering informed decision-making.
  • Lead access-focused initiatives, delivering training and communication programs to embed an access-oriented culture within the organization.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Deep understanding of reimbursement pathways, contracting, and healthcare systems, particularly within Quebec.
  • Proven team player with the ability to operate independently and make strategic decisions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills, with the capability to synthesize complex information into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingualism required, with a commitment to high-quality, impactful communication.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, pharmacy, health economics, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical device market access, preferably with biologics or biosimilars.
  • Robust knowledge of government requirements, standards, and reimbursement processes within Canada.
  • Proven experience in health economics, particularly in cost-effectiveness analysis and value communication.
  • Established relationships with decision-makers and influencers within Western Canada.

Additional Information

  • Ability to travel up to 30% as required.
  • This position offers remote working arrangements (remote work and travel to customer and other sites as required for the business).
