Job summary

Brock University is seeking a part-time marker-grader for the CUPE4207-1 Financial Statement Analysis course. Responsibilities include marking assignments, term projects, and exams, and providing clear written feedback on grades.

This role follows Article 22 of the Collective Agreement and supports on-campus teaching activities. Applicants should have strong subject-area competency and excellent English, with prior Marker/Grader experience seen as an asset.

Qualifications

• Proven competency in the subject area, including a minimum of 80% in the course being applied for (or equivalent) and an overall average of 80%.
• Excellent English Language Skills.
• Previous Marker/Grader experience would be an asset.
• Academic Integrity and Professionalism.
• Proven track record of working effectively and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.

• The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and must be prepared to provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
• The marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.

Compensation

• Master's Degree Complete ($3 6.00 /hour) - Paid to employees who have completed a master's degree. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )
• Undergraduate Degree Complete ($31.04 /hour) Paid to employees who have completed a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )
• Third Year Complete ($22.91 /hour) - Paid to employees who have completed the third year of an undergraduate honours degree. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )
• Second Year Complete ($20.15 /hour) Paid to employees who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )
• First Year Complete ($19 .00/hour) Paid to employees who have completed the first year of an undergraduate honours degree. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )
