Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare detailed analysis, design, and project deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports for marine terminal infrastructure.
  • Develop design criteria and construction specifications.
  • Assist in quantity take-offs and capital cost estimates.
  • Support fieldwork and construction activities.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Liaise with clients to understand requirements and prepare proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Mentor junior staff and review their work.
  • Promote a safety-oriented culture.
  • Travel as necessary for field programs.

Qualifications

  • Degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution (master’s preferred).
  • Experience in marine structural engineering or related fields.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Professional Engineer.
  • Experience with marine structures such as docks, ports, piers, and waterfront facilities.
  • Experience in large-scale industrial and maritime projects.
  • Port layout and planning experience.
  • Knowledge of tides, currents, waves, and wind forces.
  • Experience with ship berthing, mooring, and analysis.
  • Structural analysis software and seismic design experience.
  • Familiarity with MOTEM standards.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

For applicants in British Columbia, the salary range is CAD $98,976 to $145,553, with variations based on qualifications, experience, location, and market conditions.
