Job summary

Musqueam is seeking a Marine Management Analyst to provide technical support to the Environmental Stewardship Department and related divisions. The role involves reviewing marine projects, supporting negotiations, and coordinating with Musqueam staff and leadership.

The successful candidate will draft agreements, prepare briefing notes, and help implement stewardship plans while organizing data, engaging community groups, and contributing to conferences as needed.

Qualifications

  • University degree in marine/aquatic sciences or related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of marine management/policy/planning experience.
  • Experience with Indigenous contexts is an asset.
  • Knowledge of marine/environmental regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse marine/estuarine aspects of referrals and plans.
  • Support negotiations with proponents and other parties.
  • Collaborate with Musqueam staff to engage leadership and community.
  • Draft agreements and management plans with external partners.
  • Prepare briefing notes, reports, and factsheets.
  • Support environmental stewardship plans alignment with Musqueam initiatives.
  • Organise datasets, run analyses, and produce figures.
  • Coordinate community engagement sessions and newsletters.
  • Contribute to meetings and conferences as needed.
