Job summary

Duke is seeking an HVAC Engineer (Marine HVAC systems) to design, analyze and deliver HVAC systems for complex marine projects. The role focuses on technical execution, system design, calculations, and documentation support across shipbuilding and offshore environments.

You will work without formal management responsibilities, collaborating with project teams, vendors and classification societies to ensure compliance with SOLAS and LR standards.

Qualifications

• P.Eng designation and ability to review HVAC design deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 2–5 years’ experience in HVAC engineering within marine or industrial environments.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Experience with TPS and VFI review is an asset.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support HVAC system specifications, design deliverables, and technical documentation
• Perform and validate engineering calculations including heat load calculations, noise and vibration calculations
• Support preparation and review of HVAC D&IDs, P&IDs, and one-line diagrams
• Review and authenticate HVAC deliverables
• Support integration of HVAC systems within accommodation and technical spaces using 3D design tools
• Assist in review of Vendor Furnished Information (VFI) for technical compliance and integration
• Support review of chiller and heating plant calculations
• Ensure compliance with client specifications and applicable marine classification and regulatory standards
