Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Electrical, or a related field.
• Experience with and passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence, and driving change
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decisions.
• Proficient in CAD software (2D and 3D) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with IFS or other ERP systems is an asset.
• Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and delivering results.
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
• Knowledge of, and experience with manufacturing equipment and processes considered an asset
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Identify, champion, and implement sheet metal, and Aluminum extrusion scrap deduction projects and initiatives
• Track, dashboard, and report on progress of scrap saving initiatives
• Liaise, coordinate, and communicate well with all individuals involved with manufacturing process including shop floor operators, supervisors, managers, and design engineers
• Lead the specification, financial justification, and implementation of new machinery, automation solutions, and strategic-level process improvements
• Coordinate and manage manufacturing support projects, including documentation updates, quality investigations, safety improvements and continuous improvement efforts
• Champion lean manufacturing initiatives and participate in Kaizen activities, topics including 5S, line balancing, waste reduction, and time studies
• Maintain and optimize shop floor layouts using 2D CAD software
• Assist maintenance and production teams with setting up preventative maintenance procedures
• Maintain a high level of personal project management, ensuring documentation of all project decisions, communications, and technical information
• Develop and maintain work cell, operations and routing information in ERP systems
