Job summary

Modatek Systems in Milton, Ontario is seeking a Student/Co-Op to support MES projects and data collection efforts within a manufacturing environment.

You will assist MES Analysts, support Ignition/HMI-related tasks, and help ensure data traceability and KPI reporting. This role offers exposure to middleware and factory floor data integration.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in automation and robotics related field.
• Ignition development and implementation experience is an asset.
• HMI development and implementation experience is an asset.
• Experience with Relational Databases (MS SQL Server) is an asset.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to uphold confidentiality.
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists MES Analysts in MES System based projects.
• Helps support middleware applications (IGear, Kepware) in conjunction with the MES.
• Supports data collection techniques that meet client data traceability and production performance reporting.
• Develops project requirements with detailed specs, work estimates, timelines, deliverables and milestones.
• Works with other departments to collect data for KPIs and other key measurements from production.
