Cummins Inc. seeks an On-site Manufacturing Engineer-Hybrid for its Accelera site in Mississauga. This role involves ensuring safety and quality standards, improving processes, and using advanced manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive manufacturing and be proficient in CAD tools like Solidworks or NX.
We are looking for a talented On-site Manufacturing Engineer-Hybrid, to join our team specializing in Electrolyzer-Operation for our Accelera by Cummins Site in Mississauga, ON.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
Improve manufacturing equipment and processes using your knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices.
Utilize continuous improvement tools to enhance work efficiency and quality.
Follow Cummins standards and lead the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
Communicate effectively with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
Collaborate with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
Apply advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices to Cummins’ processes.
Maintain relationships and coach key stakeholders to foster a collaborative work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Drawing Interpretation: Integrating product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to develop optimal manufacturing processes.
Equipment/Capital Procurement: Select manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins’ specifications and project needs.
Manufacturing Analysis Led Design: Using digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Implementing changes in processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement.
Process Documentation: Producing written manufacturing procedures to ensure continuity and standardization across processes.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Able to develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment and assembly cells
Experience developing, maintaining, and utilizing PFDs, PFMEAs, and Control Plans to drive error-proofing and risk-reduction activities
Experience working in an Automotive manufacturing environment utilizing AIAG systems and lean manufacturing concepts
In-depth knowledge of various component manufacturing processes such as injection molding, metal forming, and cnc machining.
Experience integrating, troubleshooting, and sustaining automation technologies (pneumatic, hydraulic, servo-driven and robotic) into automated assembly machinery.
High CAD proficiency - able to design, tolerance, and draft equipment components for subsequent fabrication; with a preference for Solidworks, NX, or Creo,
Working knowledge of GD&T to ASME Y14.5 standard
Experience setting up maintenance requirements, schedules, and documentation for production machinery and facilities
Able to effectively lead problem-solving activities using various root cause analysis tools (8D, 5Why, FTA, etc.)
