Job description

Manufacturing Engineer – Aerostructures, Installation & Hydraulics

Location: Victoria, BC & Calgary, AB
Department: Manufacturing Engineering
Reports To: MET Manager

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineerfor Calgary, AB to support aerospace manufacturing and assembly processes. This role will focus on aerostructures systems, installation, and hydraulic components, ensuring efficient production, compliance with engineering specifications, and process optimization.

In addition, for Victoria, BC team, we are also looking for candidates with expertise in detailed parts, fabrication, machining, and sheet metal manufacturing. If you have hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing and a strong understanding of production methods, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for aerostructures assembly, installation, and hydraulic systems.
  • Create and update technical work instructions, manufacturing process sheets (MPS), and assembly process sheets (APS) to support production.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure alignment with aerospace standards and specifications (AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Provide technical expertise in fabrication, machining, and sheet metal processing, ensuring manufacturability and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles, process improvements, and tooling optimizations.
  • Support first article inspections (FAI – AS9102) and resolve any discrepancies to maintain quality standards.
  • Address non-conformance issues, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize CAD software (Catia V5, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, Solumina) to review engineering drawings and optimize production workflows.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in aerostructures manufacturing, installation, and hydraulic systems is essential.
  • Strong background in detailed parts manufacturing, fabrication, machining, and sheet metal processes.
  • Experience in aerospace production methods, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Catia V5, SolidWorks) and manufacturing process tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) and FAI processes (AS9102).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
