The manufacturing team is part of ZF's Chassis Modules in Windsor, ON, focusing on the production of advanced axle systems. The team works with innovative technology and collaborates cross-functionally within ZF.
What you can look forward to as a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Coordinate operations design, launch, and commissioning of new products, collaborating with functions and operations (Quality, Logistics, Production, and new technology).
- Act as a liaison with customers, interpreting and developing new solutions.
- Secure the production of pre-series and sample parts during start-up and industrialization.
- Ensure operational readiness of production for pre-series up to SOP, aligned with project planning.
- Develop vendors and contractors, supervise in the field, and manage task lists and tracking tools; prioritization and resource management are critical.
- Implement core tools and PMI (Project Management Institute) strategies, along with continuous improvement tools.
Your profile as a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Completed technical studies or 3-year vocational training plus 2-year specialist training as a state-certified technician, REFA technician, or master craftsman.
- Technical skills in programming, line infrastructure, IT, PLC, and electrical work (theory and hands-on).
- Professional experience in project management with good technical and commercial understanding, particularly in work preparation and/or automation technology.
- Strong understanding of organizational and technical relationships within manufacturing, both locally and internationally.
- Analytical, systematic work approach, high resilience, motivation, decision-making ability, and pragmatic action.
- Excellent communication and assertiveness skills; customer communication is critical.
