Job summary

Trulite Glass and Aluminum Solutions in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to oversee and continuously improve our safety program. You will lead hazard analyses, manage lockout and machine guarding, and coordinate pre-start safety reviews with engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of EHS in manufacturing, strong knowledge of OHSA and related regulations, and JHSC certification or willingness to obtain it within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of OHSA, O. Reg. 851, WHMIS 2015, WSIB and Ontario environmental regulations.
• Experience leading incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• JHSC Certification (Parts 1 and 2), or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Standard First Aid / CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve the Health & Safety Program, policies and safe work procedures in line with OHSA and O. Reg. 851.
• Lead job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments for new and existing tasks, equipment and processes.
• Manage lockout/tagout, machine guarding, confined space, working at heights, hot work and powered mobile equipment programs.
• Complete Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSRs) for new or modified equipment, in coordination with engineers and vendors.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and support JHSC monthly inspections; track corrective actions to closure.
