Job summary

DeKalb Health is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Estimator to generate, track, and communicate estimating activities for new and existing customers. The role involves quoting programs end-to-end and ensuring manufacturability and project alignment.

The candidate will handle RFQ preparation, pricing data gathering, and collaboration with tool shops to support program launches. Strong communication and CAD/MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in manufacturing; automotive experience is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentations skills.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; CAD tools for design review.
• Strong relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to advocate for clients and communicate needs clearly.
• Proactive in identifying and driving financial benefits for clients.
• Past launches of programs on time and on budget are advantageous.
• Think strategically and remain results-oriented.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Experience in plastic injection is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare RFQs based on customer requirements and create screen dumps of parts with dimensions.
• Download and store data from customer websites; discuss issues with customers.
• Maintain estimation logs and organize estimations by customer.
• Obtain accurate and current pricing and other pertinent information for materials.
• Assist in tool selection decisions based on annual requirements and part size.
• Collaborate with tool shops; share data for mold and check-fixture estimations.
• Accept purchase orders from quotes; verify details and PO parameters match.
• Support program launches and sourcing activities.
• Enter historical data into databases as required.
• Work with Program Management to explain costs and provide analysis when needed.

Purpose

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for receiving and preparing RFQ (Request for Quote) based on customerrequirements,creatingscreendumpsofpartswithdimensionsforvisual reference
• Accountablefordownloadingandappropriatelystoringdatafromcustomer websites and discuss issues/concerns/requirements with customer
• Ensurestokeepestimationlogsofallquoteactivity-organizeestimationsby customer
• Responsibleforobtainingaccurate&currentpricingandanyotherpertinent information for materials selected
• Ensuringproperdecisionmakingasrelatedtocavitationoftoolbasedonannual requirements, part complexity and size
• Responsibleforcollaboratingwithtoolshops,sharingrelevantdatafor estimations on molds and check fixtures
• AcceptPurchaseOrders(P.O)awardedfromquotes,comparingallinformation, details & parameters match the actual P.O.Example: Cycle time, weight etc.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum3years’experiencewithin Manufacturing environment. Automotive experience is an asset!
• University degree or college diploma in engineering.
• Impeccableoralandwrittencommunication&presentationskills,withtheability to interface with management
• ProficientwithMSExcel,Wordand PowerPoint
• ProficientwithCADsoftware(NX/CATIA/Solid works)
• Strongrelationshipbuildingskills(internal&external stakeholders)

The ideal candidate should have thorough knowledge and experience within manufacturing with technical understanding andhaveexcellentcustomerserviceskillsandsupplierrelationsskills includingnegotiating and follow-up.
