Job summary

EVONA is seeking a Manufacturing & Materials Engineer to support development and production of advanced propulsion hardware. You will select and qualify metallic materials, develop fabrication methods and establish process controls as hardware moves from development into production.

Responsibilities include defining manufacturing strategies, developing specifications, leading DFM/DFA, and maturing processes such as machining, welding and heat treatment to resolve issues and ensure scalable

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, materials or process engineering in aerospace or propulsion.
  • Strong understanding of metallic materials and alloys.
  • Hands-on knowledge of machining, welding, forming, joining, heat treatment and assembly.
  • Understanding of how manufacturing affects strength, fatigue, residual stress, distortion, cracking, dimensional control and inspectability.
  • Strong cross-functional technical judgement balancing performance, manufacturability, quality, scalability, schedule and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute materials and manufacturing strategies for propulsion hardware.
  • Develop and maintain material/process specifications, qualification plans, manufacturing plans, work instructions, travelers and build sequences.
  • Lead DFM/DFA activities and work with design teams to ensure hardware is manufacturable, scalable and aligned with production capabilities.
  • Support and mature critical manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, forming, joining, heat treatment and assembly.
  • Lead failure analysis and production investigations, resolving non-conformances, rework, process escapes, yield issues and fabrication anomalies.

Its mission is to develop a reliable and scalable launch capability, with an engineering philosophy focused on practical design, proven technologies, rapid development and extensive hardware testing.

The company is well funded and is expanding its engineering team as it progresses through engine and vehicle development.

About the Role

We are looking for a Manufacturing & Materials Engineer / Specialist to support the development and production of advanced propulsion hardware.

You will work closely with propulsion, turbomachinery, mechanical and fluids engineers to select and qualify metallic materials, develop fabrication methods, establish process controls and resolve manufacturing challenges as hardware progresses from development into production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute materials and manufacturing strategies for complex propulsion hardware, covering material selection, process development, fabrication planning and industrialization.
  • Develop and maintain material/process specifications, qualification plans, manufacturing plans, work instructions, travelers and build sequences.
  • Lead DFM/DFA activities and work with design teams to ensure hardware is manufacturable, scalable and aligned with production capabilities.
  • Support and mature critical manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, forming, joining, heat treatment and assembly.
  • Lead failure analysis and production investigations, resolving non-conformances, rework, process escapes, yield issues and fabrication anomalies.
Requirements
  • Experience in manufacturing, materials or process engineering, ideally involving metallic aerospace, propulsion or similarly demanding hardware.
  • Strong understanding of metallic materials and alloys, including heat treatment, processing history, material properties and manufacturability.
  • Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, forming, joining, heat treatment and assembly.
  • Understanding of how manufacturing affects strength, fatigue, residual stress, distortion, cracking, dimensional control and inspectability.
  • Strong cross-functional technical judgement, with the ability to balance performance, manufacturability, quality, scalability, schedule and cost.
