Position: Manual Machinist Mill and Lathe / CNC Mill and Lathe

Job Type: Permanent

Education: Certified Machinist or Experience

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Produce machined parts by setting up and operating manual machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, surface locations, and machining parameters.
  • Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
  • Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhere to international standards.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; following quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Ensure continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Contribute to organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
