Industrial maintenance, energy, manufacturing, etc.], specializing in high-quality on-site machining services for a variety of industries across North America. We provide innovative solutions and expert services, ensuring that our clients equipment is up and running with minimal downtime. We pride ourselves on precision, craftsmanship, and innovation.

Position Overview :

We are currently seeking a skilled Manual machinist to join our team. This role requires a highly skilled machinist capable of performing on-site machining and repairs at various job locations, including plant sites, construction sites, and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of manual machining equipment and the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and fabricate parts in the field and in shop. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in field machining, but also capable of operating manual lathes and mills, working independently to manufacture parts with high precision. Ensuring that parts meet quality standards and are produced within specified tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site machining tasks, including boring, milling, turning, and drilling, at customer locations.
  • Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment in various field and shop conditions.
  • Work directly with customers to understand their needs and provide machining solutions.
  • Independently read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure parts meet required tolerances.
  • Perform machine alignments, troubleshooting, and repairs on-site, minimizing downtime.
  • Travel to and from various job sites (local, regional, or national) as required by the project.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed while working in potentially hazardous environments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, both on-site and in company vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and team members to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Able and willing to work long shifts and job durations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a machinist, with significant hands-on experience in field machining or in a similar on-site capacity.
  • Expertise in using manual machining equipment (lathe, mill, etc.) in a field environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of machining tolerances, tool selection, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments to machinery while on-site.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in diverse environments and under challenging conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment or materials as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (for driving to job sites).
  • Certification in a relevant machinist program or trade school education.
  • Experience working in specific industries (e.g., power generation, petrochemical, mining, etc.).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and field-specific safety practices.
