MANDARIN OPI INTERPRETERS - Remote

Due to our recent expansion, 911 Interpreters is seeking to engage services of Mandarin interpreters for full-time/part-time and Freelance positions.

Full time hours are up to 40 per week

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education
• Medical Interpreter Certificate is preferred
• Medical/Legal/Educational interpretation experience preferred
• 1 Year of interpretation experience is preferred
• HIPPA certification preferred

Responsibilities:

• Translate a question or request clearly and accurately, conveying phrasing and intention as it relates to the subject.
• Convert dialogue and convey the intent of the original speaker, understanding that many idioms and slang terms do not translate exactly between languages.
• Assimilating words quickly, including jargons and acronyms
• Building up specialized vocabulary banks
• Writing notes to aid memory
• Preparing and submitting assignment reports
