Job summary

Les Branchés Lunetterie is seeking an experienced optician to work on-site at our Blainville location. You will analyze eyeglasses and contact lenses, measure eye curvature, pupillary distance, and bridge width to obtain precise specifications from ophthalmologist prescriptions.

With 2–3 years of experience and a college-level certificate in eye care, you will supervise junior staff, assist clients in selecting eyewear, and advise on contact lens care while contributing to a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in eye care or related field.
• Licensure by provincial authorities required.
• 2–3 years of opticianry experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client eyeglasses or contact lenses by measuring eye curvature, pupillary distance and bridge width.
• Obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
• Supervise or manage activities of other opticians or student opticians.
• Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses.
• Advise on use and care of contact lenses.
• Arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses or grind and polish lenses.
• Cut and edge lenses and fit lenses into frames.
• Adjust finished eyeglasses to fit client.
