Job summary

OPTrust in Toronto is seeking a Managing Director, Value Creation to join the Private Markets team. You will lead the build-out of value creation capabilities across the global portfolio, partnering with deal teams, portfolio company leadership, and boards to drive measurable performance.

You will develop playbooks, governance structures, and 100-day plans, oversee a dedicated value creation team including data/AI resources, and act as a trusted advisor to portfolio CEOs and boards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in private markets value creation, management consulting and/or senior operational leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the value creation agenda across the global Private Markets portfolio.
• Build and lead the value creation team, including data/AI resources, establishing the operating model and success metrics.
• Oversee development and deployment of value creation playbooks and governance practices across portfolio companies.
• Partner with investment teams during underwriting due diligence to identify growth and ops improvements.
• Develop onboarding and ownership plans for new investments with robust governance and 100‑day plans.
• Guide transformation projects to deliver portfolio company impact and enhance exit readiness.
