Job description

The Centre for Sexuality is a nationally recognized community-based organization delivering programs and services to normalize sexuality and sexual health across an individual’s lifespan. Sexual well-being for all is at the core of what we do. We teach, train, and advocate to support healthy bodies, healthy relationships, and healthy communities. For over 50 years, we have led the way in sexuality, healthy relationships, human rights, gender identity, sexual orientation, equality, and consent.

As a Manager with the Centre for Sexuality, you will oversee a team of professionals who deliver programs aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategic directions. You will plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs, projects, and services to meet established goals and budget requirements, ensuring we meet the needs of our clients. You will collaborate with leadership to develop strategies, manage resources, and build relationships with stakeholders to enhance community impact.

The Manager, Youth Programs, oversees all aspects of the Centre’s Gender-Based Programs, including WiseGuyz, Girls Program, 2SLGBTQ+ Youth Programs, and the Relationship and Sexual Health Education Program. The position supervises the Team Lead, Education, and the Team Lead, Gender-Specific Programs.

As our successful candidate, you will provide support in the following areas:

Program Administration and Evaluation

  • Oversee logistics for youth program delivery in schools and communities.
  • Support grant applications and ensure adherence to funding and budget requirements.
  • Develop and oversee annual program plans aligned with goals, objectives, and funder requirements, including funder reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to program fidelity and timely collection of evaluations.
  • Lead continuous program improvement using evaluation data and emerging needs.

  • Guide the team through annual curriculum reviews.

Community Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, partners, and the community.
  • Respond to information requests and participate in community and committee meetings.
  • Foster collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Represent the Centre on advisory committees and stakeholder consultations when needed.

Training and Development

  • Stay current in content areas through ongoing learning.
  • Participate as a leadership team member.
  • Build capacity through mentoring, coaching, and training.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Foster a culture of development, accountability, and learning.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and development of new team members.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Encourage innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and support to Team Leads.

Qualifications and Attributes required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or diploma in Social Work, Human Services, or Public Health, or a related field, or a combination of work experience with population-specific programming education.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience or a combination of work experience and population-specific expertise.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in team leadership, program/project management, and nonprofit operations.
  • Familiarity with funding models, grant management, and service delivery models.
  • Strong knowledge and application of the population health promotion model, relevant health promotion strategies and determinants of health.
  • Advanced knowledge of population-specific learning strategies and content design.
  • Demonstrated experience in building partnerships, fostering community relationships, and driving alignment in engagement initiatives.
  • Commitment to organizational values of social justice, self-determination, collaboration, and prevention.
  • Commitment to continuous program improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced, open-space work environment.
  • Police information record check with vulnerable sector search

Additional requirements:

  • Access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to become certified).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $80,000 – $85,000 annually.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
