Job description

WHO WE ARE
When it comes to health, we’re always looking for ways to push for better. It’s why we were founded in the first place. In 1957, our founder, pharmacist William Wilkinson, witnessed a mother sacrifice her health by forgoing her own medicine to pay for her sick daughter’s prescription. He knew there had to be a better way. So, he introduced North America’s first prepaid drug plan, and GreenShield was born as a not-for-profit with a mission to support better health for all Canadians.

We aren’t just a health and benefits company. We’re the only not-for-profit social enterprise that brings worlds of coverage and care together, all in one place.
We’re noble challengers, purposefully building a better way and we need the best people to help us create a more holistic approach that takes care of the mind and body.

Our mission is to create better health for all Canadians, and we know that starts with our employees.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

The Manager, Talent & Organizational Development is integral to advancing our talent management and organizational development strategies, driving us towards our ambitious goals for social impact and growth. This role will enable enterprise performance and elevate individual and collective capabilities, expertly designing, implementing, and leading strategic talent enablement initiatives including dynamic employee learning, leadership development, and performance enablement. Fueled by a passion to see every employee unleash their full potential, the Manager builds alignment between personal achievements and GreenShield’s vision – cultivating a culture of continuous differentiation and growth, exceptional performance, shared success, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the enterprise Performance Enablement process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans, building resources and communications to support employees and leaders; partner with the People & Culture Business Partners to ensure flawless execution.
  • Identify and implement transformation initiatives to ignite a holistic performance framework that aligns and empowers leaders and employees through clear measures for outcomes and behaviours, data insights, and streamlined processes across the organization; assess change readiness, adoption, and customer experience to continually improve.
  • Fully integrate our culture anchors into performance, learning and talent management programs, processes, and experiences.
  • Champion a cohesive learning ecosystem that enhances skill development, knowledge sharing, and professional growth at every level of the organization in support of the enterprise strategy and performance.
  • Support the development and lead the delivery of a comprehensive Enterprise Learning strategy, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with shared priorities and business goals.
  • Design, implement, and measure new and existing learning and development programs, ensuring that learning interventions are impactful, scalable, and adaptable to meet changing organizational needs.
  • Oversee the creation of campaigns that increase employee adoption and engagement around various learning opportunities.
  • Develop and leverage relationships with external learning partners for best-in-class learning services.
  • Establish progressive career management strategies and systems (e.g., skills learning pathways and mentorship) to foster internal mobility and effective career development across the organization.
  • Work with internal teams and vendor partners to design and deliver various talent management solutions including talent assessment, coaching, succession planning, and internal mobility to ensure continuity of leadership and knowledge transfer for key positions.
  • Identify and solve complex operational and organizational problems within the talent enablement domain by recommending and implementing programs, policies, or professional advice based on comprehensive research and analysis.
  • Utilize critical thinking to develop and execute solutions that address business challenges and drive organizational success.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and business leaders on talent management, learning and development, and employee experience strategies.
  • Develop and implement metrics and data insights to share talent information with key stakeholders; Monitor and measure the efficacy of talent and learning solutions and programs, and adjust to continuously improve and ensure alignment to the needs of the business.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset, continually looking for opportunities to increase the return of investment (ROI) of people programs and improve the employee experience in moments that matter.
  • Work collaboratively with the entire People & Culture team to drive a “one-team” approach.
  • Ensure that programs/processes are fully integrated with other talent, People & Culture, and transformation initiatives.
