Position Overview

We are seeking a forward-thinking Manager, Talent Acquisition, to lead and inspire our talent acquisition team.
Reporting to the Director, People Experience, this role is central to driving organizational transformation, championing inclusive hiring practices, and enhancing the candidate experience. You will bring a blend of strategic insight and hands-on expertise—empowering your team, leading senior-level recruitment, and continuously advancing every aspect of the talent acquisition lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-impact Talent Acquisition team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous growth.
- Develop resiliency and adaptability to ensure our team can effectively navigate the dynamic landscape of AI and technology.
- Design and implement innovative, scalable recruitment strategies aligned with organizational goals and reflect YVR’s values.
- Champion inclusive hiring practices, ensuring fair, equitable, and accessible hiring processes.
- Serve as a strategic advisor and subject-matter expert in all areas of talent acquisition - supporting executive and complex, programmatic hiring, while enabling the team to meet recruitment goals across diverse business units
- Collaborate with leadership, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional teams to support workforce planning and talent pipelining Oversee the end-to-end candidate journey, ensuring an exceptional experience from application to onboarding.
- Leverage technology and data to enhance recruitment efficiency, streamline processes, and drive decision-making.
- Identify, track and analyze key metrics and KPIs to evaluate performance, inform decision-making and guide workforce planning efforts
- Drive the development and implementation of talent acquisition tools such as competency-based interview guides, leveling frameworks, assessments and recruitment performance dashboards & reporting
- Work with the Program Specialist, Talent Acquisition to build and maintain partnerships with external organizations, institutions, and vendors to expand talent pipelines.
What You’ll Bring
- Education & Experience: Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent training and experience). 5-7 years in recruitment or talent acquisition, with 5+ years in a leadership role, including experience in unionized environments.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven success in designing and executing scalable talent acquisition strategies, including senior, technical, or specialized hiring.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency with recruitment technology (ATS platforms, sourcing tools, assessment methods, AI).
- Inclusive Practices: Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, with knowledge of employment law and best practices.
- Leadership Development: Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to build strong partnerships.
- Continuous Improvement: Ability to leverage data and technology to enhance recruitment processes and drive decision-making.
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position. As part of our recruitment process, short-listed candidates may be required to participate in an assessment process. This role allows for flexible working and a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site presence 3-4 days per week.
Salary Range : $102,880 to $ 154,320 per annum. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience and qualifications, and internal equity. Performance-Based Incentive: Eligibility for an annual bonus target at 15% of your annual salary.
