Job summary

Bombardier is hiring a Manager, Structures Design, Advanced Engineering to lead a team of integration specialists and oversee design across the Bombardier product portfolio. You will manage the Engineering SOW, budget, and governance processes while driving cross-functional collaboration with platforms and suppliers.

The role requires strong leadership, English and French fluency, and a track record of delivering complex aerospace projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline (Aerospace preferred).
• 20+ years in aerospace with at least 3 years supervisory experience.
• Experience with multidisciplinary and technically complex projects.
• Strong leadership, people management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Integration specialists responsible for the Bombardier product portfolio design.
• Collaborate with internal platforms and external suppliers; align on priorities and decisions.
• Manage the Engineering Statement of Work (SOW).
• Oversee the engineering budget and spend for the department.
• Participate in management meetings and organize departmental governance.
• Communicate effectively and support messaging to and from management.
• Ensure a robust management system to organize tasks, priorities, risks and mitigations.
• Mentor and coach employees to reach goals and deliverables.
• Deploy Lessons Learned and Best Project Practices across projects.
• Coordinate for Production and In-Service issue resolution.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Lead a team of Integration specialists who are responsible for the design of the Bombardier product portfolio.
• Work collaboratively with platforms internal and external suppliers and with each platform leader, to align onpriorities and decisions
• Manage the Engineering Statement of Work
• Manage the engineering budget and spend for the department
• Participate in management meetings and organize departmental governance.
• Communicate effectively and support decisions and messages to and from management
• Ensure that the management system is in place to organize and control the tasks and the priorities, withappropriate levels of visibility to issues and risks and associated mitigation plan.
• Support employees to enable them to reach their goals and deliverables by providing coaching, mentoringand training both for technical and soft skills.
• Responsible for deployment of Lessons Learned and Best Project Practices
• Some level of support/coordination for Production and In-Service resolution of issues

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline. Aerospace specialty is an asset.
• You have a minimum of 20 years of experience working with multidisciplinary and technically complexprojects in the Aerospace industry with at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• You have knowledge of design tools
• You have knowledge of MRB
• You have experience in multi-disciplinary designs
• You have knowledge of manufacturing methods
• You have strong people management and leadership qualities with an ability to mobilize and foster anenvironment of teamwork within cross-functional teams facilitating discussions and resolving issues to meet the business objectives.
• You have demonstrated leadership behaviors that support putting people first, work in teams, valueteamwork, and drive for performance excellence while exhibiting a winning attitude.
• You are pro-active, results orientated and innovative with a view for business improvement.
• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensu without formal authority.
• You must be fluent in English and French.
