Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Dorval, QC, is seeking a Manager, Structures Design, Advanced Engineering. The role leads a multidisciplinary design team for Bombardier’s product portfolio and requires extensive aerospace experience and strong leadership.

You will collaborate with suppliers, manage budgets, and guide governance. Fluent English and French are required, with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 20+ years of multidisciplinary aerospace experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of design tools and MRB processes.
• Excellent leadership, people management and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Integration specialists responsible for the design of the Bombardier product portfolio.
• Collaborate with internal platforms and external suppliers and with platform leaders to align priorities and decisions.
• Manage the Engineering Statement of Work.
• Oversee the engineering budget and spend for the department.
• Participate in management meetings and governances.
• Communicate effectively to support decisions and messages to management.
• Ensure a management system to organize tasks, priorities, issues and mitigations.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and training for technical and soft skills.
• Deploy Lessons Learned and Best Project Practices.
• Coordinate production and in-service issue resolution support.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Lead a team of Integration specialists who are responsible for the design of the Bombardier product portfolio.
• Work collaboratively with platforms internal and external suppliers and with each platform leader, to align onpriorities and decisions

• Ensure that the management system is in place to organize and control the tasks and the priorities, withappropriate levels of visibility to issues and risks and associated mitigation plan.
• Support employees to enable them to reach their goals and deliverables by providing coaching, mentoringand training both for technical and soft skills.
• Responsible for deployment of Lessons Learned and Best Project Practices
• Some level of support/coordination for Production and In-Service resolution of issues

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline. Aerospace specialty is an asset.
• You have a minimum of 20 years of experience working with multidisciplinary and technically complexprojects in the Aerospace industry with at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• You have knowledge of design tools
• You have knowledge of MRB
• You have experience in multi-disciplinary designs
• You have knowledge of manufacturing methods
• You have strong people management and leadership qualities with an ability to mobilize and foster anenvironment of teamwork within cross-functional teams facilitating discussions and resolving issues to meet the business objectives.

• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensu without formal authority.
• You must be fluent in English and French.
