Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Manager Site Reliability Engineering to lead and mentor a global team responsible for IAM services within Linode's compute stack.

You will drive reliability, scalability, and security for cloud IAM applications in a fast-paced, Agile environment. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in SRE/development, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with container runtimes, Go, Python, and Bash.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Experience in SRE or Development role, working with large scale distributed systems.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team.
• Experience building with cloud native technologies and cloud deployments at scale.
• Demonstrate experience with Container Runtimes (e.g. docker, containers, etc), Go, Python, or Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with software development practices and product life cycles through build, test, deploy, and iterative environments.

• Partnering with stakeholders to understand and shape the product roadmap.
• Taking ownership for technical and product innovation, exercising design thinking, analyzing systems and developing solutions.

• Focusing on team goals and building collaborative and effective working relationships through establishing commitments, accountability and trust.
• Contributing to internal research processes, methodologies, and approaches to create and share best practices
• Diagnosing system performance and reliability together with the team of Site Reliability Engineers

In this role, you'll help lead our global team of SREs who manage & support our Linode's IAM (Identity and Access Management) services. Our SRE team works on tooling and software that monitors and improves the reliability, scalability, security, and usability of Cloud IAM applications.

As a Manager Site Reliability Engineering, you will be responsible for:

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 129,400 - 232,800 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
