Job summary

Mastercard Canada is seeking a Manager, Pricing, Interchange and Data Operations to define country pricing strategies and oversee interchange operations. You will work with vast data assets to derive insights, build models and support regulatory reporting, business intelligence and decision making.

You will lead analyses on pricing, product, and customer economics, coordinate with Product, Finance, and Sales teams, and drive initiatives from concept through execution while ensuring compliance

Responsibilities

  • Assess interchange initiatives across strategic, customer, financial impact and feasibility
  • Develop or refine pricing and interchange strategies compliant with objectives and regulations
  • Model outcomes and connect value chain insights to inform decisions
  • Provide internal counsel on customer economics and support business development
  • Support account teams and customers on economics and pricing
  • Conduct strategic analysis to benchmark Mastercard products and inform pricing decisions
  • Lead economics reviews for new products, GTM strategy and repricing
  • Develop models/frameworks for pricing and interchange assessment
  • Supervise cost studies underpinning interchange propositions
  • Prepare materials for management decisions
  • Manage recurring data processes using SQL ETL and translate data into BI materials
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Product, Finance, GTO, Legal, Customers

Overview

As the Manager, Sales (Pricing & Interchange), you will be working with Mastercard’s rich data assets to derive mission critical data sets, insights and analytics that contribute to defining the country pricing strategy, interchange operations, controls, regulatory reporting and business intelligence. You will design, assess, and implement initiatives to strengthen Mastercard’s competitive position in Canada.

Role / Responsibilities
  • Make holistic assessments regarding interchange initiatives along strategic, customer, financial impact, risk and feasibility. (e.g., run financial impact simulations on country, product and customer level or run competitive economics analysis)
  • Develop or refine strategies that are consistent with objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Model outcomes and connect the dots across the value chain to inform decision making
  • Provide general internal counsel on customer economics, support business development
  • Provide direct support to account teams and to customers on customer economics
  • Conduct strategic analysis as needed to help evaluate new ideas, benchmark across Mastercard’s products and services, and inform decisions on pricing and interchange levels
  • Drive economics reviews, including new products, GTM strategy, repricing, and strategic initiatives
  • Apply analytical rigor (both qualitative and quantitative), apply problem solving skills, understand customer value and develop creative solutions to key challenges which ultimately drive top-line revenue growth
  • Leverage, lead and contribute to models/ frameworks for assessing pricing and interchange
  • Supervise cost studies that underpin the Interchange propositions
  • Prepare recommendations and necessary materials for decision making purpose and recommendations to Management
  • Managing recurring business processes that rely on database data sets, SQL ETL and other data conversions into end user materials/BI
  • Participating in cross-functional teams and liaising closely with various internal and external stakeholders, e.g., Product, Finance, GTO, Legal, Customers, consultants
All About You / Qualifications
  • Excellent analytical skills: structuring and conducting rigorous analysis using SQL scripts, R, Tableau, PowerBI, ML, automation, MSExcel
  • Strong propensity for learning new information platforms and joining data from multiple sources into structured analysis
  • Have a strong drive and curiosity to learn, creativity, passion to achieve and to excel
  • Able to manage small-scale projects and use project-management skills to manage complex processes
  • A strong team player who can operate effectively in a complex matrix
  • Mastery of analysis, modeling and finance concepts
