Job summary

United Way Golden Horseshoe is seeking a Manager, Resource Development to coordinate multiple fundraising activities across a fast-paced department. You will manage workplace campaigns, deliver presentations, engage senior volunteers, and explore new donor partnerships to advance community impact.

The role emphasizes building a strong donor portfolio, strategic growth, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders in a 18-month, 35-hour week, office-based setting with flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years’ fundraising or sales experience.
  • Project management and/or sales and marketing experience.
  • Strong digital literacy, including comfort working across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Experience using CRM or donor management systems to support coordination, tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience delivering presentations and training sessions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information for problem solving and decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and manage contentious issues to resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven initiative and ability to carry projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Teamwork and inclusive collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in corporate, employee, individual and/or special events fundraising approaches.
  • Contribute to strategy development for selection and recruitment of fundraising volunteers; ensure proper orientation and training.
  • Work with senior volunteers to keep them engaged and prepared for meetings, calls and events.
  • Develop and implement growth goals for the assigned portfolio in line with campaign objectives.
  • Retain and grow a leadership-level donor portfolio and develop new donor prospects and partnerships.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to improve fundraising results.
  • Manage temporary campaign staff through training, support and performance assessment.

Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000

Position Status: 18 month contract

Work Model: Office-based with flexible work arrangements, subject to operational needs

Overview:

United Way Golden Horseshoe brings people and resources together to create stronger, healthier communities across Brant, Haldimand-Norfolk, Halton, Hamilton, and Niagara.

The Manager, Resource Development, will coordinate multiple fundraising activities and priorities in a fast-paced department. This includes managing a portfolio of workplace campaigns, conducting presentations, senior volunteer engagement, supporting a pipeline of donor relations, and exploring new partnership opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in corporate, employee, individual and/or special events fundraising approaches
  • Contribute to strategy development for selection and recruitment of fundraising volunteers. Ensure that they receive appropriate orientation and training
  • Work closely with senior/key volunteers to ensure that they remain engaged and motivated; ensure that they are well-prepared for all meetings, calls and events
  • Develop and implement campaign growth goals for assigned portfolio in keeping with the overall campaign objectives
  • Retain, migrate and grow a portfolio of individual donors giving at the leadership level
  • Build, manage and grow a pipeline of new donor prospects, including new business partnerships
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies as necessary to correct sub-optimal fundraising results
  • Manage assigned temporary campaign staff by providing training, support, problem solving and assessment of performance
