Job summary

Ottawa Senators, a National Hockey League club, seeks a Manager of Promotional Events & Fan Experience to craft memorable fan moments at games and regional events. The role requires attendance at game days and events beyond standard hours and will manage both full‑time and part‑time staff.

You will lead event planning, promotions, and vendor partnerships, shaping game themes, giveaways, and marketing programs while collaborating with multiple departments to grow the Senators' fan base in Ottawa

Qualifications

  • University or college sports marketing graduate or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a similar marketing and/or event position or equivalent education and experience.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, maintaining a team mentality.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (English & French) is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute calendar of event and marketing programs.
  • Lead all major on-site fan activations outside of game nights, and on game nights where appropriate.
  • Develop workback schedules, identifying key milestones and dates within projects.
  • Build RASCIs and communications for internal distribution, ensuring key stakeholders are aware of upcoming events and key dates.
  • Be a team player, willing to help where required.
  • Manage and develop full and part time staff, including development of CSR events, hiring Street Team Ambassadors and Street team activation tracking.
  • Lead and execute bar bus program.
  • Lead development of unique game themes to entertain a variety of fans.
  • Source and secure unique giveaway and promotional inventory.
  • Perform due diligence research in securing best rates from all vendors.
  • Develop event information collateral for internal distribution.
  • Manage promotional inventory for department, including fulfillment, purchase orders, and invoicing.
  • Manage and work within budget and production timelines as required.
  • Submit creative requests with appropriate specs and information to creative department within appropriate timelines.
  • Support on unique/net new marketing initiatives aimed at growing Ottawa Senators fan base.

The Opportunity

The Manager, Promotional Events & Fan Experience, is a unique role focused on developing memorable fan experiences at Ottawa Senators games and events in the Ottawa region. Responsibilities include planning, supporting and executing game themes, specialty events, marketing programs and giveaways.

The successful candidate will have a can‑do attitude, with a passion to create meaningful moments for fans of the Ottawa Senators and guests at Canadian Tire Centre. This role requires attendance at certain game days and events outside standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities
Event Planning
  • Develop and execute calendar of event and marketing programs

Active social committee, which hosts multiple large‑scale events throughout the year.

This role falls within a base salary range of $70,000 to $107,200 annually, consistent with the organization’s established salary ranges. Salary ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to market data, internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skillset.
