Job summary

Bombardier Aerospace Canada seeks a Job Manager, Project Engineering to lead the platform plan governance and align priorities with the Head of Aircraft Design. You will manage the Engineering SOW through all phases, including certification, while overseeing budget and cross-functional teams.

You will drive collaboration across disciplines, ensure timely lifecycle milestones, and mentor team members. Travel may be required; PMI certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in multidisciplinary aerospace integration projects.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Advanced knowledge of project management and BES.
• Strong people-management and leadership skills.
• Fluent in English; French an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform plan and governance.
• Align platform priorities with Head of Aircraft Design.
• Represent Head of Aircraft Design on Project Engineering matters.
• Manage the Engineering Statement of Work through development to certification.
• Manage engineering budget and platform expenditures.
• Harmonize schedules and mobilize technical teams including suppliers.
• Ensure measures for visibility of issues, risks, and mitigations.
• Participate in program, supplier, and technical reviews.
• Co-chair the Change Board and vet proposed solutions.
• Provide platform support for PMO change harmonization.
• Lead deployment of lessons learned and project mgmt best practices.
• Coordinate deployment of common tools across platforms.
• Coordinate with other project organizations (BFTC, Completions).
• Support production and in-service issue resolution.
• Develop and evaluate your employees.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Lead the platform plan and its governance.
• Work closely with the Head of Aircraft Design and the Platform Chief Integrator to align platform priorities and decisions.
• Represent the Head of Aircraft Design on all matters related to Project Engineering.
• Manage the Engineering Statement of Work through all phases of development up to certification.
• Manage the engineering budget and platform expenditures.
• Harmonize schedules and mobilize technical teams, including suppliers, to meet key milestones.
• Ensure that measures are in place to organize and control tasks and priorities, with appropriate visibility of issues, risks, and associated mitigation plans.
• Participate in program, supplier, and technical reviews, providing support and visibility to the team and management.
• Co-chair the Change Board and ensure the completeness of proposed solutions.
• Provide platform support for the PMO change harmonization process.
• Lead the deployment of lessons learned and project management best practices across the platform.
• Coordinate the deployment of common tools across the platforms.
• Coordinate with other project organizations, including BFTC and Completions.
• Provide support and coordination for the resolution of production and in-service issues.
• Develop and evaluate your employees.

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification. PMI certification is an asset.
• You have at least 10 years of experience working on multidisciplinary and technically complex integration projects in the aerospace industry, including a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• You have advanced knowledge of project management and knowledge of the BES.
• You possess strong people-management and leadership skills, with the ability to mobilize teams and foster a collaborative environment within cross-functional groups by facilitating discussions and resolving issues to achieve objectives.
• You demonstrate leadership behaviours that put people first, promote teamwork, and drive performance excellence while maintaining a winning attitude.
• You have advanced computer skills and are proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project, as well as database, PLM, and ERP systems.
• You are willing to travel and occasionally work outside normal business hours.
• You have a logical and flexible mindset, show initiative, and can balance a broad strategic perspective with attention to detail.
• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus without formal authority.
• You are fluent in English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
