The Opportunity

Aecon Industrial seeks a passionate project manager to execute complex Heavy Industrial projects across Canada. The role requires mobilization to project sites nationwide.

What you'll do here;

  • Support proposal/estimating teams for quality, competitive submissions
  • Lead transition from estimating to project execution
  • Build and mentor project teams
  • Promote a work environment that limits employee turnover
  • Develop project goals aligned with owner’s deliverables and Aecon’s initiatives
  • Prioritize safety above all
  • Manage project schedule and controls
  • Control costs and improve margins with commercial acumen
  • Implement change management practices
  • Oversee quality, testing, start-up, and commissioning
  • Forecast and report on safety, schedule, cost, and quality
  • Manage project risks
  • Oversee procurement and contract execution
  • Manage stakeholder relations
  • Chair project management meetings for optimal outcomes

What You Bring To The Team

  • 10+ years of construction experience, specifically in Heavy Industrial projects
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, trades, or equivalent
  • Background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil works
  • Management experience with alternative project delivery methods (asset)
  • Willingness to travel across Canada
  • Experience with BIM and Lean Construction Principles (assets)
  • Knowledge of non-residential construction methods and terminology
