JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Procurement – Indirect manages indirect procurement for Shiseido Americas, maintaining the lowest total cost with the highest quality and service. This role oversees all Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) procurement for manufacturing and distribution center purchases, including facilities, consumables, temp labor, construction, engineering, CAPEX, services, testing, janitorial, etc. The manager is responsible for approximately $50MM regional spend and leads category and supplier segmentation and strategy development efforts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead category segmentation and develop strategies for all materials for classification and analysis.
• Lead RFX efforts and negotiate supply agreements as needed.
• Execute procurement strategies.
• Negotiate and award business contracts.
• Implement annual cost savings, cash flow improvements, and action plans to meet corporate objectives.
• Support supplier partnerships through activities such as onboarding alternative suppliers, materials, and category innovation.
• Monitor KPIs to measure and improve procurement effectiveness.
• Generate ideas for category innovations to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
• Develop processes and tools in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Achieve annual cost of goods savings targets.
• Recommend payment term improvements.
• Support consolidation of the supply base.
• Maintain strategic supplier relationships.
• Support category segmentation, strategy development, and execution.
• Collaborate across functions (Facilities, Production, Engineering, R&D, Warehouse, etc.) for project clarity.

WHO YOU ARE

• 5-7 years of procurement experience, preferably in cosmetics or consumer goods.
• 4-year degree required; MBA preferred.
• Procurement certificates are a plus.
• Knowledge of procurement category management and supply chain functions.
• Understanding of cosmetic industry, brands, and products.
• Familiarity with payment terms and total cost of ownership.
• Experience with supplier audits and material cost modeling.
• Basic understanding of commodity markets affecting material prices.
• Results-driven with strong analytical skills.
• Customer and consumer-focused with stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and adaptability to change.
• Excellent communication skills; proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and scheduling/forecasting software.
• 3-5 years of experience with procurement tools (SAP, Ariba, etc.) at an advanced level.
• Willingness to travel for supplier visits and project needs.
