Island Health seeks a Manager for Practice Learning and Simulation to oversee the simulation program, ensuring quality and safety in healthcare education. The role involves establishing policies and collaborating with academic partners to enhance learning experiences, aiming for continuous improvement in patient care standards.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Director, Practice Learning and Simulation, the Manager, supports the ongoing effective and efficient operation of the Island Health Simulation Program and the dedicated simulation spaces that are managed in partnership with UBC Faculty of Medicine's Island Medical Program, including the Centre for Interprofessional Clinical Simulation Learning (CICSL). The Manager establishes and implements plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the program which provides experience-based teaching and learning for the learners and professionals of the health and care community, with a primary mandate to increase the safety of patients and improve quality of care.
A level of Education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in nursing or a related health field plus seven (7) years of experience.
