Region of Peel in Brampton, Ontario, is seeking a Manager Practice Innovation & Education for Health Services - Seniors Services. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with B.ScN, with 5+ years of leadership experience in Seniors Services, and knowledge of LTC regulations.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with B.ScN and current Ontario registration.
• Minimum four years' recent experience in LTC or Seniors Services.

As part of the Seniors Services Leadership Team, the Practice Innovation & Education division plays a critical role in driving quality improvement, professional practice, accreditation, innovation, and strategic initiatives that support excellence in care and service delivery across the division.

In this role, you will lead and develop a team of five direct reports, providing strategic direction, coaching, and support to advance divisional priorities.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to the Program Director, Operational Services, Seniors Services, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for a multidisciplinary team of five direct reports, leading a portfolio that advances innovation, quality improvement, professional practice, accreditation, project delivery, and operational excellence across Seniors Services.

You will lead complex initiatives that support divisional priorities while ensuring services align with evidence-informed practice, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.

Key Highlights Include:

• Strategic Leadership & Innovation: Lead the development and execution of divisional strategies, priorities, and transformative initiatives that enhance service quality, operational effectiveness, and resident outcomes.
• Quality Improvement & Accreditation: Champion continuous quality improvement, risk management, performance measurement, and accreditation activities that support a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Professional Practice Leadership: Provide clinical and professional leadership to support evidence-based nursing and interdisciplinary practices, ensuring alignment with professional standards, legislation, and best practice guidelines.
• Project & Program Leadership: Oversee complex, multi-phased projects and strategic initiatives from concept through implementation, including business case development, funding proposals, and operational integration.
• People Leadership: Build and develop high-performing teams through coaching, mentorship, performance management, succession planning, and employee development. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Partnership & Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal service partners, healthcare organizations, regulatory bodies, and external partners to advance divisional priorities and service excellence.
• Operational Excellence: Provide oversight for policy development, document management, contracts, information management systems, performance reporting, and strategic planning processes that support effective operations across Seniors Services.
• Resident and Client Experience: Lead initiatives that leverage data, feedback, and evidence-informed practices to continuously improve the quality of care and services provided across Seniors Services programs.

What The Role Requires:

• Registered Nurse with B.ScN, and current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required. Minimum four years recent experience in LTC or Seniors Services setting.
• Member of Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) and other organizations relevant to the role.
• Minimum of five years of related management/leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Long Term Care experience and/or Seniors Services experience.
• Thorough knowledge of the health care system, and the Fixing Long Term Care Act 2021 and Ontario Regulations 246/22, guidelines and requirements for long term care industry.
• A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check obtained directly from a police service (third-party background checks will not be accepted) and Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test Clearance are required as a condition of employment.

• Experience managing budgets, contracts, and operational resources.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and practices.
• Demonstrated proficiency with information technology systems and digital transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent project management training.
• Experience leading Accreditation Canada reviews or similar accreditation programs.
