Responsibilities

• Manage operation, maintenance, and lifecycle of EPCOR's physical security systems to ensure reliability and compliance
• Develop annual plans, budgets, and priorities to support security technology services
• Lead implementation, upgrades, integration, and replacement of security systems and supporting infra
• Ensure systems meet standards, governance, documentation, and security controls
• Monitor system performance and incident response with continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage vendor relationships, service agreements, invoicing, and performance to meet objectives

We are hiring a full-time permanent Manager, Physical Security Infrastructure position working out of Edmonton, AB . This position is based onsite, with regular attendance at the work location required.

The Manager, Physical Security Infrastructure is accountable for the planning, operational support and performance of EPCOR’s physical security infrastructure and associated applications. This includes ensuring the performance, availability, reliability and recoverability of EPCOR’s access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems

What you’d be responsible for

• Manag ing the operation, maintenance, and lifecycle of EPCOR's physical security systems, ensuring reliability, availability, and compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
• Develop ing annual plans, budgets, resource allocations, and work priorities to support the effective delivery of physical security technology services.
• Lead ing the implementation, upgrade, integration, patching, and replacement of physical security systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Ensur ing systems are maintained in accordance with established standards, governance processes, documentation requirements, and security controls.
• Monitor ing system performance and service levels, leading incident response, problem resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
• Manag ing vendor relationships, support agreements, inventory, warranty claims, invoicing, and service performance to meet operational and financial objectives.
• Partner ing with Physical Security Operations, IT Operations, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to support operational and project requirements.
• Manag ing physical security technology projects and contribut ing subject matter expertise to enterprise initiatives.
• Build ing and develop ing a high-performing team through recruitment, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and workforce development.
• Maintain ing strong stakeholder relationships to understand business needs, manage service expectations, and provide technical leadership for enterprise initiatives and decision-making.
• Provid ing and maintain ing 24x7 on-call Physical Security Infrastructure support to ensure operational readiness and response capability.
• Maintain ing compliance with regulatory, audit, health and safety, and Alberta Reliability Standards Critical Infrastructure Protection (ARS CIP) requirements.
• Supporting project design, delivery, and operational activities during periods of increased workload.
• Manag ing physical security system inventory, sparing strategies, warranty claims, invoicing, and lifecycle replacement planning to support operational continuity, emergency preparedness, and budget management.
• Support ing project design, delivery, operational surge requirements, and provid ing subject matter expertise to stakeholders, leadership, and enterprise decision-making processes.

What’s required to be successful

• A d iploma or d egree in Business, Engineering or Computer Science is required
• 7+ years of experience in Physical Security System Operations
• Certification in Physical Security hardware and systems such as C-Cure, Genetec, and Key Management Systems is considered an asset
• 5+ years of experience in progressive leadership roles, with a demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing technical teams
• Experience in a utility environment is preferred
• Prior work with EPCOR would be considered an asset
• Knowledge of EPCOR’s organizational structure and Policies would be an asset
• Security industry background, knowledge, tools, techniques and applications
• Demonstrated discretion relating to confidentiality
• Ability to develop processes, procedures and workflows
• Ability to manage major incidents
• Planning and financial (budgeting, forecasting, analysis) skills
• Knowledge of project execution and project management experience is considered an asset
• Demonstrated a strong ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, effectively configuring, updating, and supporting software and cloud-based applications.
• Able to understand and read blueprints and schematic drawings
• Technical knowledge or experience with Access Control Systems, CCTV/Intrusion Detection systems and Key Management systems including underlying infrastructure
• Recognize the risks and impacts of change within EPCOR’s physical security infrastructure environment
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.) and MS SharePoint
• ARS CIP knowledge and experience would be considered an asset
