Job Description

About Citco

The market leader. The premier provider. The best in the business. At Citco, we’ve been the front-runner in our field since our incorporation in 1948 led to the evolution of the asset servicing sector itself. This pioneering spirit continues to guide us today as we innovate and expand, push beyond the boundaries of our industry, and shape its future. From working exclusively with hedge funds to serving all alternatives, corporations and private clients, our organization has grown immensely across asset classes and geographies. For us, this progress is a pattern that we’ll only maintain as we move forward, always prioritizing our performance. So for those who want to play at the top of their game and be at the vanguard of their space, we say: Welcome to Citco.

Fund Administration is Citco’s core business, and our alternative asset and accounting service is one of the industry’s most respected. Our continuous investment in learning and technology solutions means our people are equipped to deliver a seamless client experience.

Strategic Operations is a dedicated function within Private Assets. It brings transformation delivery, project execution, business analysis, operational initiatives and implementation support into one team, reducing the delivery burden on BAU Operations and maintaining ownership from design through adoption.

The group will be split across three distinct focus areas, aligned under two individual leaders:

Operating Model, Product & Client Solutions: led by the Operating Model & Product leader, this area will define how services should run end to end, shape scalable products and solutions, support complex client implementations, and ensure client commitments are operationally deliverable.

Data, Reporting & Platform Enablement: led by the Technology, Data & Delivery leader, this area will define Operations requirements for data, reporting and platforms, strengthen data quality and lineage, and carry solutions through testing, deployment and adoption.

Digital Workflow, Automation & AI: also led by the Technology, Data & Delivery leader, this area will identify and deliver workflow, automation and AI opportunities, establish appropriate controls, and measure whether the expected benefits are realised.

The group works in close partnership with Operations, the Transformation Office, IT, Tactical Operations and Marquee Client teams. Roles may be permanent or approximately 12-month rotational assignments anchored in strategic locations. Rotational colleagues will join from the business, help shape and deliver change, and return to the line with broader project experience.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

You will support the redesign and delivery of operating model and product change, with hands-on ownership of analysis, testing and implementation tasks.

Map current state processes, gather data and evidence where the friction and cost actually sit.

Support the design of target state processes, controls and handoffs.

Draft business requirements and supporting documentation for review with IT and the Transformation Office.

Build and execute test scripts, run UAT cycles and track defects through to resolution.

Document client-specific processes and requirements, and evidence where they differ from our standard model.

Prepare analysis and materials to support client pitches, POCs and solution design.

Support implementation of fund structures, new client setups, onboarding and transitions on our accounting platforms.

Maintain the reuse inventory — what was built, for whom, and who else could benefit.

Prepare training material and support Operations teams through go-live and into adoption.

Maintain project documentation, trackers and status reporting.

Qualifications

About You:

You have 4+ years’ experience in private assets accounting or operations, at a fund administrator, fund manager or comparable environment.

Solid technical knowledge of private assets processes — general ledger, capital activity, fee calculations, financial statements and investor reporting.

Exposure to process improvement, system testing or project work, or a clear appetite to move in that direction.

Comfortable engaging both operational teams and technology partners.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interrogate data and evidence a recommendation.

Attention to detail and a proven ability to manage several pieces of work at once.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel); exposure to reporting, workflow or automation tooling an advantage.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; working towards a professional accounting designation an advantage.

What We Expect of the Strategic Operations Team

Regardless of role or focus area, everyone in Strategic Operations is expected to demonstrate the following:

Deep technical and operational knowledge — genuine depth in how our processes, data and platforms actually work — the detail that only comes from having run the work.

Curiosity — the instinct to ask why a process looks the way it does, to challenge the answer, and to keep asking whether there is a better way.

A transformational mindset — comfortable redesigning end to end rather than patching, and prepared to see change through past go-live to the point where it is genuinely adopted.

Ownership through to adoption — accountability does not end at delivery; success is measured by whether the change sticks in the business.

Commercial and client awareness — an understanding of what we can genuinely run, so that what we commit to a client is deliverable.

Global mindset — working across regions, jurisdictions and time zones, and designing solutions that scale beyond a single desk, client or location.

Ambition to shape Citco’s future — an appetite to help build the operating model we will run for years, and to be measured on whether it works.

Salary Range: $111,000-$133,000 CAD
