Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager of UX Research based in Canada.

As Manager of UX Research, you will shape how users' needs, behaviors, and experiences inform product strategy across a complex B2B SaaS platform. Combining hands-on qualitative and quantitative research with people leadership, you will guide a research team while establishing scalable, user-centered practices. You will define meaningful UX metrics, leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate research synthesis, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders, you will influence roadmaps and improve product usability. You will also empower cross-functional teams to conduct effective research through clear processes, training, and practical resources. This role offers an opportunity to connect rigorous research, emerging technology, and strategic decision-making in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Accountabilities
  • Plan and conduct qualitative research, including customer interviews, field studies, usability testing, and diary studies, to uncover user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Design and execute quantitative research initiatives, including surveys, experiments, and behavioral analyses, to measure user experience and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Combine research findings with product analytics from tools such as FullStory, Pendo, and Amplitude to establish baselines, assess problem severity, and recommend solutions.
  • Manage and mentor a UX researcher, supporting professional development, research quality, and effective collaboration.
  • Introduce and scale AI-enabled research workflows for synthesis and analysis, incorporating appropriate human oversight to address accuracy, bias, and privacy concerns.
  • Own the UX measurement framework and reporting processes, tracking indicators such as Customer Effort Score (CES), Customer Satisfaction (CSAT), and ease of use.
  • Evaluate the usability of interfaces and design systems, translating UX metrics and research findings into clear recommendations for product and design improvements.
  • Establish and maintain research operations across multiple product areas and squads, creating templates, guidelines, and training resources that help Product Managers and Product Designers conduct lightweight research confidently.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to translate customer insights into roadmap priorities and product strategy.
  • Present research findings, performance trends, and recommendations to senior stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and monitor UX trends to identify opportunities for product differentiation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in UX or design research, including at least 3 years managing people.
  • Experience leading or managing a research team of approximately 1-5 people.
  • A portfolio of case studies demonstrating qualitative and quantitative research methods and the measurable business or product impact of resulting insights.
  • Experience working within an enterprise SaaS organization, ideally supporting complex, data-rich B2B products.
  • Demonstrated ability to operationalize research practices and embed user-centered thinking across an organization.
  • Experience defining, measuring, and reporting UX metrics such as CES, CSAT, System Usability Scale (SUS), task success, and competitive benchmarks.
  • Proficiency with research platforms such as UserTesting, Maze, Qualtrics, and FullStory, along with relevant product analytics tools.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools and large language model (LLM)-based workflows for research synthesis and analysis, with sound judgment regarding accuracy, privacy, and responsible use.
  • Familiarity with Figma and design systems, including the ability to assess interface usability in collaboration with designers and engineers.
  • Strong storytelling, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and product strategy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple research initiatives while maintaining methodological rigor.
  • A bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), psychology, human factors, or a related discipline is preferred.
Benefits
  • Annual base salary ranging from CAD 112,000 to CAD 160,000.
  • Potential performance-based bonus opportunity.
  • Flexible paid time off to support work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage options.
