Qualifications

  • 5+ years of video production experience, including 2+ years in leadership or management capacity.
  • Demonstrated success producing short-form video content for digital and social platforms.
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities, global partners, or mission-driven organizations is an asset.

The Multimedia Manager provides strategic leadership and creative direction for the organization’s visual storytelling. This role leads to the planning, production, and distribution of short- and long-form video content that strengthens donor engagement, increases brand visibility, and communicates impact across digital platforms. The Multimedia Manager oversees the full production lifecycle—from concept and script through post-production, delivery, and performance reporting—while developing a highperforming, mission-aligned creative team.

The Multimedia Manager serves as a key member of the communications and development leadership team and supports the DDC in advancing the mission of supporting leaders to cultivate spiritual vibrancy and human flourishing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate organizational strategy into a clear multimedia vision and departmental objectives.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development for multimedia team members.
  • Establish production standards, workflows, and quality control systems that support creative excellence and stewardship.
  • Provide structured coaching, feedback, and growth plans to cultivate technical skills and leadership capacity.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive team culture grounded in mission alignment and psychological safety.
2. Video & Visual Storytelling Strategy
  • Develop and execute a multimedia content strategy aligned with fundraising campaigns, advocacy goals, stakeholder communication, and organizational storytelling priorities.
  • Manage a year-round production calendar supporting social media, email campaigns, events, website content, partner communications, and field projects.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify and prioritize storytelling opportunities that reflect dignity, ethics, and cultural sensitivity.
3. Production Oversight & Creative Direction
  • Direct and oversee all phases of production, including scripting, story development, storyboarding, filming, interviews, b-roll capture, editing, sound design, motion graphics, color grading, and post-production.
  • Lead on-location and remote video shoots in Canada and international project regions.
  • Ensure all video content meets brand, tone, accessibility (captions, audio clarity), ethical consent, and technical quality standards.
  • Oversee video asset management, archiving, and usage rights.
  • Manage relationships and scopes of work with freelance videographers, editors, and external production partners.
  • Provide creative direction and editorial feedback to ensure consistency, quality, and mission alignment across all external work.
5. Distribution, Analytics & Performance Reporting
  • Optimize video content for web, email, social media platforms, presentations, and emerging digital formats.
  • Track, analyze, and report on performance metrics, including engagement, reach, conversion, audience growth, and storytelling impact.
  • Use insights to refine content strategy and inform future production planning.
6. Budget & Project Management
  • Manage multimedia budgets, contracts, and production timelines.
  • Ensure delivery of projects on schedule and within approved budget parameters.
  • Balance multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
7. Organizational Spiritual Life & Culture
  • Contribute to organizational spiritual rhythms, including periodic leadership of prayer and scripture reading.
  • Support ministry initiatives and staff community life as part of a faith-based, mission-driven organization.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in staff meetings and serve as a key member of the Development & Communications Leadership Team.
  • Act always in accordance with HFL’s Religious Order Spiritual Covenant.
  • As needed, lead morning prayer and Scripture reading; periodically lead staff chapel.
  • Promote HFL vision, mission, and values.
  • Participate in general ministry tasks as required.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in film, media production, communications, marketing, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of video production experience, including 2+ years in leadership or management capacity.

Technical Skills

Proficiency required in the following areas:

  • Video editing: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
  • Motion graphics: After Effects or equivalent tools
  • Audio editing: Adobe Audition, Logic Pro, or equivalent
  • Camera operation (DSLR/Mirrorless), lighting, and on-location sound capture
  • Compression, encoding, and format optimization for digital platforms
  • Story development, scripting, and storyboarding
