Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton is seeking a Manager, National Quality (CSQM) in Toronto to lead quality management activities across the firm. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to oversee monitoring, testing, and remediation of design and operating effectiveness within the system of quality management.

The role requires CPA designation and 5+ years in a public accounting firm, ideally in Audit and Assurance, with strong communication to senior audiences and a proactive approach to continuous

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a public accounting firm, preferably in Audit and Assurance.
• Past experience designing and executing tests of design, implementation and operating effectiveness of internal control is an asset.
• Thorough understanding of public accounting firm operations and risk management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct process overviews and monitoring activities of elements of the firm’s system of quality management, including testing and remediation proposals.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support process improvement initiatives for the firm’s quality management system.
• Develop communications and guidance to leadership, process owners, and teams to ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
• Respond to evolving regulatory and professional standards in developing internal risk management policies and programs.
• Ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements, liaising with regulators as needed.
• Manage additional projects on an ad hoc basis as required.

As a Manager, National Quality [CSQM] your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with various internal stakeholders throughout the business to conduct process overviews and monitoring activities of elements of the firm’s system of quality management, including designing and executing the testing program, identifying opportunities for improvement, participating in root cause analysis discussions, and developing proposed remediations


• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to provide support and to facilitate process improvement initiatives to support the firm’s system of quality management and help our people thrive


• Develop communications and guidance to firm leadership, process owners, and team members to ensure compliance with professional standards as well as firm policies and procedures


• Respond to changing regulatory and professional standards in developing internal risk management policies, systems, and programs


• Ensure compliance with all required external regulatory requirements, including liaising with various external regulators


• Manage additional projects on an ad hoc basis, as required

Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $101,900 to $127,300 in Toronto, ON. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
